low menial jobs (the bench seems to be popular). A lot of these people had happy demeanors and we learn that the deaf people have happy dispositions and willingness to co-operate. I suppose this was all used to fight the useless label that some people had towards these people at this time. Having said that, it IS encouraging to see all these people hard at work. Nice of Caterpillar to give these people something to do. That is, until the men got back, and they could go back to being useless.
